Poor White is a sociocultural classification used to describe financially deprived Whites in the English-speaking globe, specifically White Americans with low-income. In the USA, Poor White (or Poor Whites of the South for quality) is the historic category for an American sociocultural group, of typically Western and/or Northern European descent, with origins in the Southern USA and in Appalachia.
